On 8/5/2019 at approximately 1:06 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Hennepin County, Minnesota causing widespread damage from 3.00″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Hennepin County area was struck by tea cup sized hail in the early afternoon hours. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning. The storms produced 60 mile per hour winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
