On 12/26/2018 during the evening hours, a severe hail storm took place over Brackettville and Camp Wood, TX causing widespread damage from 2.00″ and 1.75″ hailstones, respectively. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.

Brackettville, part of Kinney County, TX, was struck by hen egg sized hail at approximately 8:30 PM CST. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning.
