On 2/23/2019 at approximately 5:55 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Rankin County, Mississippi causing widespread damage from 1.00″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.

The Sandhill city area was struck by nickle to quarter sized hail in the early evening hours. The National Weather Service had issued no warnings. The storms produced high winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
