On 6/26/2018 at approximately 12:49 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Kansas City and Wichita, Kansas causing widespread damage from 1.19″ – 1.5″ hailstones. This damage contributed to severe property losses, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Wyandotte County and Sedgwick County, Kansas areas were struck by quarter to tennis ball sized hail in the afternoon hours. The hail was accompanied by severe weather from thunderstorms and heavy rain. The storms produced winds up to 60 mile per hour which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings, commercial buildings, and vehicles in the area.
