On 11/8/2019 at approximately 2:24 PM PST, a brush fire was reported at the Santa Susanna Field Laboratory property. 3 civilian fatalities and 5 total injuries were reported and it is estimated that as much as $6 billion in damages occurred.

The Los Angeles County fire department responded, and the cause of the fire is still unknown at this time. The fire started in the late afternoon hours and continued for several days.
