On 3/12/2019 at approximately 8:16 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Ward County, Texas causing widespread damage from 2.75″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.

The Pecos city area was struck by baseball sized hail in the evening hours. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning. The storms produced 50 mile per hour winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
