Goodyear, Avondale, and Buckeye, AZ
On 11/21/2019 at approximately 4:00 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Maricopa County, Arizona causing widespread damage from 1.00″ to 1.25″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Maricopa County area was struck by quarter to half dollar sized hail in the early evening hours. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Goodyeat, Avondale, and Buckeye. The storms produced high winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
Hail storms are uncommon in Goodyear, AZ and Avondale, AZ, where on a typical year there may be only 3 days of hail while in Buckeye, AZ there may be less days per typical year.
