September 11, 2019 | Severe Storm in Longmont, Colorado
On 9/11/2019 at approximately 5:27 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Bolder County, Colorado causing widespread damage from 1.50″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Boulder County area was struck by ping pong ball sized hail in the early evening hours. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning. The storms produced high winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.

Nationwide, hail insurance claims total $1 billion of damage to property and crops each year.
