Severe June 3, 2014 Hail Storm in Lincoln, Nebraska
A derecho storm system traveled through Nebraska on June 3, 2014. The violent cluster of severe thunderstorms and damaging straight-line winds brought hail and heavy rain. Lincoln, Waverly and Davey recorded 1″ to 1.5″ hailstones, while areas in Wilber recorded 2.5″ hailstones.
Nebraska ranked 3rd for major hail events in 2012, according to the National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
