On 8/25 at approximately 5:25 PM, a severe hail storm took place over Marion County, Indiana causing widespread damage from 1.81″ hailstones. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Marion County area was struck by slightly larger than golf ball sized hail in the early evening hours. The National Weather Service had issued no warnings though the storms produced 60 mile per hour winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
