On 10/2/2018 during the early evening hours, a severe hail storm took place over Liberty, Pennsylvania and Mackeyville, Pennsylvania causing widespread damage from 1.75″ and 2.00″ hailstones, respectively. This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.
The Forest county area was struck by golf ball sized hail at 4:12 PM, CDT. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning. The storms produced heavy winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
