On 9/18 at approximately 3:27 PM, CDT, a severe hail storm took place over Saunders County, NE causing widespread damage from 2.00″ hailstones.  This damage contributed to property losses county-wide, including damage to roof coverings and vehicles.

The Colon, NE area was struck by hen egg sized hail in the early afternoon hours. The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning. The storms produced 60 mile per hour winds which drove the hail to severely impact residential dwellings and commercial buildings in the area.
